Black Forest-Staufen , Germany

(August 2005)

Staufen is a small quaint town you don't mind stumbling upon along the Black Forest route. This a neat town with well kept old colorful buildings. This is the Gasthaus Krone located on the main pedestrian zone.

Hauptstrasse is the main pedestrian area with cobble stone streets and bordered by these long narrow canals for rain and sewer waters. If you don't watch where you are walking, you could wind up with wet feet!

Main pedestrian zone close to dusk. Check out the old ruined castle looking over the city of Staufen.

Main thoroughfare at night with the old ruined castle also with bright lights.

A horse sculpture made up of old horseshoes.

Hotel Sonne is an Italian style eight room hotel at the edge of the pedestrian center where we stayed. Our room was on the top floor. It was nice for 60 Euro per night including breakfast.
