Brussels (Bruxelles, Brussel) is Belgium's capital and headquarters for NATO and the European Union. We had a chance to visit Brussels on August 22-24, 2004.This was taken on a hill overlooking the main square (La Grand Place) from behind.
|
We pretty much took the hop on-hop off city bus to tour the city.

It is 102 meters high and is supposed to be an iron crystal molecule magnified 165 billion times.

Me in front of the popular Mannekin Pis fountain. It is a bronze statue of a little naked boy urinating. He has lots of costumes for all occasions.
|
One legend says that he was the lost son of a rich Bourgeois. He was found five days later doing what the boy is still doing now. Another story states that the little boy should have saved the city from a dreadful fire.
